About Us

Most people in the Monterey Bay Area identify with water polo at the high school or college level, but did you know water polo is alive and well for master’s players on many days of the week around the bay area. Women and men from ages 18 to 67 can be found competing at the Otter Tank at CSUMB and at Simpkins Family Swim Center where the games are as much about scoring goals as they are about the comradeship of water polo. On any given weekend, you will find players of various levels from ex-college and high school enjoying a sport that is good for the body and easy on the joints. You can even find an ex-Olympian or two giving out instructions or competing and enjoying the sport.

Masters Water Polo in the Monterey Bay Area – Sunday Simpkins Polo for any level of masters plays year round on Sundays from 10:30 to 12:30 at Simpkins Family Swim Center on 17th Avenue in Santa Cruz.  It’s a great way to learn the game.  Santa Cruz Masters water polo club plays at Cabrillo College in the winter, spring and summer quarters on Monday and Wednesday nights from 7:30 until 9:30.  Otter Bay Water Polo Foundation plays at the “Otter Tank” pool at Cal State University Monterey Bay “Otter Tank” on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 8 pm and Saturdays from 11 am to 1 pm.
